Renault sales in the country have been steady for the past few years despite poor demand. Thanks to the success of their cars such as the Kwid, Triber, and now the Kiger. Renault’s three models have brought in a lot of sales.Moreover, the company plans the launch of a new generation Duster, which is expected to hit showrooms in India later this year. In advance of that, the second-generation Renault Koleos has been spotted testing in India but the premium SUV isn’t expected to launch in India anytime soon.

The Renault Koleos Mid Size SUV is almost certainly being used as a testbed for new components created by the French automaker. The prototype that was discovered lacked any form of concealment. For those unfamiliar, the first-generation Koleos was released in India in 2011. However, after a brief and largely unsuccessful run in India, the SUV was cancelled by the French automaker. Due to its high price, the SUV only found a few buyers in India. The current-generation Koleos has been available in international countries since April 2016; however, it has never made its way to India. It is made on the CMF C/D platform developed by the Renault-Nissan Alliance, which also underlies Espace, Talisman, and Kadjar.
Design & Specifications for Koleos
Koleos features a classic Renault front fascia with a chrome-accented grille flanked by narrow LED headlamps in terms of style. Large C-shaped LED DRLs compliment the front face. The SUV has slender wraparound tail lamp clusters, a shark-fin antenna, false twin diffusers, and a big metallic bash plate in the back. Koleos comes with two petrol and two diesel engine options for the international market.
The peak power output ranges from 130 to 175 horsepower. A 6-speed manual and Renault-X-Tronic Nissan’s CVT gearbox handle the transmission tasks. On higher models, an optional all-wheel-drive system sends power to all four wheels.
Conclusion
When the Koleos debuted in India, it competed against luxury midsize SUVs like the Honda CR-V and Hyundai Tucson. Renault’s future plans are currently unknown, with no definite launch dates announced for any new products.
While the new-generation Duster has been confirmed for India, no release date has been announced. Renault planned to enter the electric mobility market with the introduction of a completely electric version of the Kwid. At the most recent Auto Expo, a concept prototype of the vehicle was on exhibit. All in All, We have no idea when the French carmaker will launch the Koleos in India.
