2023 Audi A5 Sportback – Specifications, Performance, Interior and Price

Audi A5 Sportback
Audi A5 Sportback

The Audi A5 Sportback is gorgeous, engaging to drive and a premium car. The A5 Sportback uses the same powertrain configuration as the A5 coupe and convertible, consisting of a turbocharged inline-four connected to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The 201 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque in the A5 Sportback 40 model are increased to 60 horsepower and 40 pound-feet in the A5 Sportback 45 model. Even the base A5 Sportback feels plush thanks to a wide range of standard amenities like premium leather, a panoramic sunroof, and moody ambient lighting. The interior of the Sportback is buttressed by an incredibly clear and high-tech digital gauge display, with available navigation handled by Google Earth imagery. At the same time, competitors like the Mercedes-Benz C-class or Genesis G70 may have more stylish interiors.

What’s New for 2023 Audi A5 Sportback

With only a few minor equipment changes for 2023, the Audi A5 Sportback will remain the same. All models now come standard with a new set of 18-inch wheels and Audi’s LED matrix-style headlights. The Bang & Olufsen 3D sound system has been added as standard equipment for the Premium Plus trim only. A black rear lip spoiler and exhaust tips have been added to the Black Optic Plus appearance package. With the available Convenience package, adaptive cruise control is now included. Finally, a new Chronos Grey shade replaces Quantum Grey as a paint option for the 2023 A5 Sportback.

Pricing and Which One to Buy

The Premium Plus midrange product is good. It adds many features, including Audi’s brilliant Virtual Cockpit digital gauge display, to justify its price increase. Additionally, we’d recommend the 45 model, which has 261 horsepower compared to the ’40s 201.

Engine, Transmission, and Performance of Audi A5 Sportback

The A5 Sportback will be offered in 2023 with two four-cylinder turbocharged engines. Models with the 40 badge produce 201 horsepower, while those with the 45 badges produce 261 horsepower. All A5 Sportbacks have a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and all-wheel drive as standard equipment. The last generation car with a 252-hp engine managed a 5.0-second zero-to-60-mph time at our test track, so we anticipate the 45 to be just as quick. However, we haven’t tested either model yet. The A5 Sportback is everything a stylish sports sedan should be: composed, self-assured, and simple to drive quickly through corners. Potholes and damaged pavement don’t bother it much, especially with the optional adaptive suspension, which belies its comfort. This Audi is a delight to drive on winding tarmac thanks to the well-weighted steering that feels natural in the driver’s hands and the front tyres that react quickly to inputs.

Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG

According to the EPA, the A5 Sportback should achieve up to 26 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway. However, we can’t assess its real-world mpg until we run it on our 75 mph highway fuel economy route as part of our rigorous testing regimen. On our real-world highway fuel-economy route, we haven’t tested a new A5 Sportback, but an older model we evaluated during that test returned 34 mpg. Visit the EPA website to learn more about the A5 Sportback’s fuel efficiency.

Interior, Comfort, and Cargo of Audi A5 Sportback

Via: Carbuzz

The interior of the A5 Sportback isn’t as plush as some people might anticipate from a luxury brand. Still, all the materials are excellent, the fit and finish are excellent, and there are enough high-end features to set it apart from conventional sedans. Although there isn’t as much room in the back as there is in the Audi A4 sedan, there is still enough room for two adults of average size, and in exchange, you get the A5 Sportback’s sleek roofline, which is much sexier than that of its more angular and upright A4 sibling. Power front seats, leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, ambient interior lighting, and three-zone automatic climate control are just a few of the luxuries that come standard on all A5 Sportback models. The Audi A5 Sportback is much more practical than the Audi A4 sedan or the A5 coupe and convertible because of its sloping rear roofline, which conceals a power liftgate and a big cargo hold. Despite having a relatively small cargo area, it proved its durability in our carry-on suitcase testing by fitting 16 cases. The Sportback outperformed all of its direct competitors in our practical cargo test.

Infotainment and Connectivity

Audi’s MMI is one of the easiest-to-use infotainment systems among luxury brands. It is made even better by the 12.3-inch Virtual Cockpit digital gauge display, which is optional and highly suggested for the A5 Sportback. A 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen is standard on all models, and it can be operated by a click wheel mounted on the console between the driver and front-seat passenger. While Apple CarPlay/Android Auto integration is standard, users can also interact directly with their smartphones if they prefer. Audi’s MMI interface is simple to use while driving. Audi Connect Prime and Audi Connect Plus, a set of internet and vehicle connectivity features, are available with navigation as an option.

Safety and Driver-Assistance Features

Audi offers a variety of driver-assistance features, but some are only accessible on the pricier Premium Plus and Prestige models.

With forward collision warning, automated emergency braking is standard.

Typical lane-departure alert

Lane-keeping assistance and adaptive cruise control are both options.

As we discuss this beast, the excitement gradually increases. Having a powerful engine and luxury on the same four wheels, this vehicle becomes one of a kind. Stay tuned to Auto Tech Portal for more automobile related content.
