On many occasions, the humongous Jeep Meridian has been spied throughout the country in camouflage, which signals that the company has made its mind to launch this giant SUV in the Indian market. The company is drafting a plan to unveil this beast sometime in 2022.
The carmaker has been testing their product all across the country and even found in the high altitudes of Ladakh, which is the most suitable location to test the capabilities of this wild SUV. Jeep is testing the full production-spec model of the Meridian on India terrains, and if we judge the vehicle by its look, it will have a mighty presence on the Indian roads.
The countries in which the Jeep Meridian is up for sale are Brazil and other international markets. With the name of Commander and based on the photos of the Commander, it is right to say that the Jeep Meridian will be an imposing SUV. After launch, the Meridian will combat competitors like the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, Mahindra XUV700, and other premium mid-size SUVs.
Having a look at the front approach of the Jeep Meridian, we notice the traditional seven-slotted Jeep grille with a set of LED headlights that are angular. To give a boxy shape, the side profile of the SUV will deliver an extended silhouette. The rear end will likely receive a Grand Wagoneer-styled LED tail lights and tailgate. If we check the dimensions of the ongoing Commander in the international market, we can expect measures somewhat similar to that. It stands at 1,682 in height, 4,769 mm in length, and 1,859 in width.
In the recent spy shots of the Jeep Meridian test mules, an elongated rear profile was spotted and was draped under thick black sheets. In addition, we can observe a set of Alloy Wheels that are black. The rear doors appear bigger and have many more noticeable Specifications. The carmaker has codenamed the Jeep Meridian as H6 for internal references. The company has also trademarked ‘Meridian’ in the country, according to research.
When we come to the interior of this humongous four-wheeler, the inside should consist of a dashboard, the same as the one observed in the Jeep Compass. We can expect Specifications such as ventilated seats, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), electronic parking brake, a panoramic sunroof, 10.25-inch digital instruments display, 360-degree camera, alpine audio system, a powered tailgate, and many more features.
As of now, a limited set of information was the best we could extract. The Jeep Meridian is expected to launch in India by 2022. Let’s wait and watch what new features the carmaker offers at the best price. Stay tuned to Auto Tech Portal.
